나는 비오는 날이 가장 좋다. 특히 이런 가을 아침에 우산들고 노래 들으며 걷을 땐 행복하기까지 하다. 

볼이 적당히 얼얼해지는 기분이 좋아 ^~^ 

여전히 루시드폴 노래를 자주 찾아 듣고 있다. 

어쩐지 청승맞고 외로운 곡들만 잔뜩 들었는데 이 사람은 사랑 노래도 참 잘 짓는구나. 

이제 나 보이나요 이미 다 얘기했는데 

그래도 모른다면 나 또 잊을까요? 

이 부분이 너무나 좋아서 걷다 깜짝 놀랐다. 

너무 바빴던 하루였다. 드디어 디펜스 날짜를 잡았다. 

아침부터 모든 종류의 이메일을 처리하며 넋이 나갈 뻔 했지만, 맘속으로 꾹꾹 기도하며 할일을 했다. 

네시쯤 되니 모든 문제가 해결되었다. 집에 와서 엄마와 영상통화를 하며 늦은 점심을 먹었다. 

염려하지 않는 삶을 살고 싶다. 불안해하지 않고, 비교하지 않고. 

나의 achivements를 과소평가하지 않고. 언젠가 흉하게 엎어져도 괜찮으니까 도중에 포기하지만 않고 싶다.   

간밤엔 하기 싫은 것을 하는 꿈을 꾸었다. 

그 하기 싫은 것을 하기 전에 보기 싫은 것을 보게 되었고, 나는 울면서 내 옷을 씻어내다 잠에서 깼다. 

밖은 깜깜했고, 화장실에 가 거울을 보니 아랫 입술 안쪽이 교정기에 하얗게 헐어있었다.  

그냥 개꿈일까 나의 진심일까 아니면 다른 의미가 있는 것일까. 생각해보아도 나는 몰라. 알게 되어도 나는 아무것도 하지 않겠지. 

두달 뒤면 한국 나이로 스물 여덟. 나는 여전히 비겁하고 순진한 사람으로 살고 있다. 

이 와중에도 찰옥수수 아이스크림이 먹고 싶다. 울고 싶다. 아직도 새벽의 꿈이 생각난다. 

나른함과 무심함이 매력으로 여겨지는 오늘날. 

이리도 맥없이 부를수가... 하면서도 계속 듣게 되는 김광진의 동경소녀.

수많은 소녀팬들 앞에서도 초연한 그의 모습이 약간 귀여워 ㅋ

컴패션에서 오늘은 두꺼운 기프트 카탈로그가 왔다. 

Life-changing gifts under $50은 그 카피도 밑에 나온 상품 사진들도 슬프다. 

알렉스에게 크리스마스 선물을 보냈고, 그 25불에서 그 아이에게 정말로 전해질 것은 얼마만큼이고, 또 어떤 의미일까 생각했다. 

언젠가 만나볼 수 있을까? 그리고 내가 그 아이를 만나는 게 좋은 일일까? ㅎㅎ

해피 할로윈! 

이번엔 할렐루야 나잇 행사가 없어서 그냥 조용히. ㅎㅎ 그리고 월요일이야 흑흑 좀 아쉽긴 하다. 

올해는 이 커스튬이 최고인 것 같오. 

친구가 울어도 허리를 곧게 ㅋ 진지하게 코스프레에 임하는 모습 ㅋ

잠이 자꾸 안와서 지퀼을 사먹었다. 

자꾸 두시 세시에 자다버릇하니 피부가 정말 하하하

걱정할 것이 많아서 잠을 못자는 것인데, 꼭 약을 먹어야 하나 싶기도 함.

새 총장으로 1.5세 최문영 박사가 임명이 되었다. 

작년 그 난리 이후 새로 자리에 앉은 사람들은 모두가 다 흑인이어서 우리 오피스/친구들 사이에서도 이것이 학교가 지향하는 diversity가 맞느냐, 구색만 맞추려는 인사가 아니냐 하는 비난들이 있었는데 (미주리안에서도 아시안 리더쉽 관련 기사를 쓰고). 나는 좋다. 리서치 학교이면서 지원을 많이 해주지 않는 것이 불만이었던 나는 very academic하다는 그의 디스크립션도 반가울 뿐. ㅎㅎ 학교를 어떻게 이끄시려나. 

그 사태는 우리 모두에게 상처를 주었고, 학교는 인공호흡기를 달며 버티고 있지만

천천히 잘 견뎌내어 더욱 더 단단한 학교가 되었으면 좋겠다.

한국은 너무 추워서 패딩을 입는다는데 이번주 미주리는 꼭 늦봄 날씨 같았다. 

간밤 비가 많이 내렸는데도 오피스 오는 길이 포근했다.

베트남에 사는 아빠가 그랬다. 그곳은 사시사철이 여름이라 시간이 지나가는 것을 모르겠다고. 그것이 가끔 슬프다고. 

대통령 선거가 다음주 화요일인 것을 달력을 보고서야 깨닫고 그 말을 떠올렸다.

교수님이 나를 좋아하시는 이유가 궁금했다. 내가 어릴적 그녀를 닮아서도 있겠고, 나의 어리버리한 성격이 사람들로 하여금 챙겨주고 싶은 마음이 생기게 하는 것도 있겠고, 아니면 내가 똑똑하다고 오해를 하고 계신다고도 생각을 했는데. 

며칠 전 다른 사람에게 전해 들은 이야기로는 나는 모르면 모른다고 못하겠으면 못하겠다고 부끄러워하지 않고 고백하기 때문이라고 하셨다. 나는 사실 화요일 발표 이후 내가 너무 한심하고 싫어져서 이곳에 적지도 못했는데 ㅜㅠ 

나의 약함과 부끄러움이 누군가가 나를 좋아하는 이유가 될 수 있다는 것이 신기하고 그저 감사했다. 

그나저나 ICA 홈페이지가 해킹되어 데드라인이 연장되었는데... 

학회 홈페이지를 대체 왜 해킹하는 것일까 -_-; 페이퍼를 내야 하나 쓸 게 없는 사람이 구랬나.. 암튼 감솨욤 ㅎㅎ 

도서관에서 가방을 싸다가 문득 강아솔이 생각이 나서 플레이 리스트에 좋아하는 노래를 몇개 추가해두고 밖에 나왔다.

나는 밤에 운전을 하면서 참 잘 우는데, 아마 이 정도 시골에서 차를 끌고 다녀야만 가능한 한 일인 것 같다.

강아솔은 나 그대 대단치 않아도 사랑할 수 있다고 하는데 그녀는 어떤 사람을 어떻게 사랑할까. 그럴 수 없는 것은 무엇이고.

나의 모습이 창피하고 미안해져 엉엉 울었다. 

언제쯤 성숙한 사랑을 하게 될까.
